Keeping your hotspot a secret

With the rivers in my area bumping up with all the rain we got, I've been noticing the guys who are actually out there working to find fish are making one fatal mistake when posting pictures on facebook and other "report" websites. In every single picture I have seen so far I can tell you EXACTALLY where they were, heck I can even tell you how deep that hole is. Why do I know where they are? It's because there's to much background in their pictures and even landmarks (bridges, houses, ect). We all have our favorite "hunny holes" and love to show what we caught out of them. But don't be surprised when you have someone in your hole the next day because you had to much in the background. Here are a few tips to keeping your hole a "secret"; if you are fishing with someone else, kneel down with the fish and have the camera man take a picture pointing down. Another tip is if your fishing solo, don't try taking "selfies" with your fish, odds are you'll have more background in the picture then you want. Just lay the fish on the ground and use your fishing rod next to it for something to compair the length to. The final tip I have is go back and review your pictures before you post them. There is an awesome feature on all the new smartphones and computer programs called "crop" This is where you can enlarge your photo and cut out most of the background. Some of you might be wondering "but why don't you want someone to know where you are?" There's a few reasons; 1. It's an unpressured hole (because everyone passes it up or doesn't know about it) 2. You've done your homework, you've done the grunt work walking the rivers looking for fish, why give it away? Finally 3. With the aid of the interenet now adays there are so many, what I like to call "computer" fisherman. These are the guys asking "where's the fish biting?" and never go out and find them on their own. This is the hight of lazyness to me! If you want me to show you exactally where I'm at and what I'm using you'll be paying my guide prices. Keep these tips in mind before you post your pictures on the interent and it will help keeping the "weekend warriors" out of your favorite fishing spots.

Luckily I have a few spots on the rivers I fish that not a whole lot of people know about because they don't look like much but they hold a lot of fish and 9 times out of 10 I'm the only one that hits them
