Ottawa Boat & Sportsmen Show

I attended the Ottawa Boat & Outdoor Sportsmen Show 2015 in Ottawa this weekend. I spent two days at the event. The first day I went with my family to enjoy the day as a spectator. The show is that....a boat show. TONS of boats. They also have several vendors selling fishing tackle, poles etc etc., and some selling many non-fishing related products. Many times these events are not really exciting for kids and therefore makes it difficult for parents with younger ones but there was a plethora of things for them to do. There was minnow races for the kids. A fishing exhibit where they virtually could catch a bass, or steelhead....it was extremely realistic and the kids had a blast. Lure making and a casting pool area. After the kids had some fun I was able to check out a few booths like Pro J Fishing Tackle where I met up with Chris Harper who I have been waiting to meet in person. It's been a pleasure chatting fishing with him online through social media and getting the chance to shake hands and get a first hand demonstration about Rage Attractant and Anglers Choice baits was a pleasure. I was sold. I went home an owner of product from both companies! The second day I traveled back as a rep for Mohawk Trails Guide Service. It was a great day. Spent most of the time talking about fishing, selling some product, and giving away a chance to win a guided trip. It was a ton of fun talking to anglers or all levels. I must have explained how to dropshot to at least 20 people. Even got a few promises to get in contact with me to tell me how it goes. I think a few of them are really going to give it a shot. That's what it's all about. Met some great people again this day that I am sure I will keep in contact with. If you get a chance to swing by this show next February, give it a shot!
