Taking Advantage of Snow Days

Yes, it does snow in Texas. We are not used to it, can't drive in it, and don't really care for it. But we can make the best of it. If I can't fish, I'll use the time to help me when I can go fishing. Although I feel like I'm organized when it comes to my tackle, unloading my boat and reorganizing is always worth it. It will give you a current inventory on what you have, and in some cases what you may have too much of. Reorganizing my crankbaits in shallow to deeper boxes will allow me fingertip access and save time when money is on the line in my next tournament. Checking hooks for sharpness and culling baits I haven't thrown will pay off later as well. Realizing I was low on my custom jigs prompted a quick pour, paint, and skirt session. My Son's both enjoy making these lures, so I have plenty of help and get some family time in. We don't make many color variations but they are custom colors that you just can't find at tackle stores. "Making Hay while the Sun shines" is common in Texas. Making Jigs while its snowing is second best. Till next time... Good luck fishing - Steve.

I was way off mentally on my inventory. I have a ten year supply on chatterbaits and was low on my favorite soft plastics.

Good point Steve, organizing is a great way to check your inventory.
