Lake Guntersville 3/21

On Saturday, the morning bite started out tough. Managed a few small fish on baby d-bombs and jerkbaits. Both baits were fished in 3-6 fow in front of laydowns. Went and watched the FLW Tour Rayovac weigh in and the boys did not disappoint. The winner brought in 31 pounds of fish on the final day. 90 percent of the pros reported catching most of their fish on a-rigs, single swimbaits, and some on rattletraps. We fished that evening around the usual prespawn staging areas with only a few small fish. Made the move to a nearby causeway before dark and the fish were there. Caught the best one of the trip on a custom jig I make in 7 fow on the rip rap. Fish weighed 8.15 lbs, then boated another 6 pounder right after that. My partner boated three more smaller fish in the 2-3 lb range on an a-rig with keitech swimbaits. Water temp had rose back up to around 54 degrees at last light. Overall a great trip. Any questions regarding those Guntersville conditions or fishing, please feel free to contact me.
