The fish are biting in a strong prespawn pattern. Water temp was 64-68 with no fish on beds. We caught a high quantity of fish in the 1-3lb class but none of those fish had signs of spawn (no bloody tails and no red bottoms). Fish were caught between 5-10ft of water and looking up. A few fish were caught deeper (15'-20') on the bottom but most were biting moving baits and looking up. Tight lines.

Nathan you are correct, that lake is full of 1-3lb spots but I've recently seen several in the 5-7lb weight class, which really improves that lake's image.
Andy- that is close to the norm. Usually the 68-70WT is the magic number, but you can find some of the larger fish up early in the 65-68WT. You usually see the males up making the bed early here when the temp is between 64-68. I will be on Lake Hartwell (Home of the 2015 Classic) on Saturday and will give back a report afterwards.

Is that the norm. Seems warm for no beds.
