Everything but Crappies

I decided to get the boat out for some spring crappie fishing on Saturday 4-11-15 but everything else besides crappies want to eat. While working through a deep cut leading back to a shallow bay my buddy ended hooking up with a very nice pike on his first cast with a micro crankbait right next to the boat. It was awesome to see this 33-34'' pike come up and inhale that crankbait. While I was reeling in my line I hooked up with a football of a large mouth on an Northland impulse jig. At that time I looked around and realized I had left my net in the truck. Luckly my cousin was in his boat just in front of us and lended me his net. We both were using my new 13 Fishing Ambition rods with 4lb test line. I must say we both were very happy how the Ambition rods worked. Note *game season is closed and both fish were released. We are only targeting crappies and bluegills*
