Fishing Report 4/18/15

The water temps are on the rise and the crappies are biting! Got out this week and found crappies in very shallow water and they were aggressive and hungry. I was using plastics on a 1/32 oz jig head under a float. I know some guys were getting fish using live bait but for me plastics are much easier and faster and the fish seemed to like them just as much. The key was to keep searching until you found the big pods of fish. I had to cover some water before I found them but it paid off when I did. Look for the black bottom areas with the warmest water. Don't be afraid to go super shallow and keep an eye open for them boiling on the surface. It's going to be a beautiful weekend!
