This past weekend I was fortunate enough to take second place in the Clear Lake Walleye Classic. The field consisted of 100 teams for a top pay out of $2500. During pre fishing we found most of our fish on transition points from rock to sand or mud. We used mostly jigs with bait or a plastic and slip bobbers with leeches. Day one was a struggle to zero in on bigger fish as we weighed 10.63lbs for five walleyes. This had us sitting in 12th place The second day we had a front move in. The lake was on fire!! With the tournement being called at noon we boated well over 100 fish and we ended up with a second day basket of 12.65lbs. Enough to boost up 10 spots into second.
