Bottom fishing heats up in the gulf !

As gag grouper season opens up in the gulf many anglers venture offshore in hopes of filling the boxes. While most prefer a heavy conventional reel paired with a stout 6'-7' combo I prefer the lighter side of things. A Shimano Talica 20 matched with a Shimano Tallus med-heavy 7' rod and spooled with 65lb PowerPro braid. The general rigging I use is a FG knot from the braid to a 80lb mono wind on leader. This set up allows a full day of fishing since its light weight and strong enough to pull those rock bottom bruisers out from the bottom. This set up is great
