Brew City Salmon Tournament

Well my first brew city tournament is in the books. After a 13 mile run, Mark and I missed our first four hits but then after turning around we stuck a 5lb coho on a J Plug in 30 feet of water. While working north, I noticed a lot of larger tournament boats in 15-20 feet of water and I decided to troll north to what I call the "trough" where there is two 20' humps to the east and a 20' hump to the west with a 40' trough between the humps. We started picking away at some dandy Browns with the biggest being 19.5lbs. I then got a message saying there were some chinooks in 70 feet of water after the browns stopped biting so I decided to run out deep (big mistake!) After getting a whole lot of nothing deep Not even a laker (very surprising!) we ran back north and into 30 feet of water hoping to pick up a few smaller fish for points with no avail. Overall 5 for 9 with 58lbs, two guys 6 rods vs a majority 9 rod per boat field. I can't complain especially for my first single day tournament on Lake Michigan
