I remember one time.......Bootin through the woods at the upper Nottawasaga, bumslidin down a ravine in cedar muck in Bayfield, treadin through snow after givin up on our stuck vehicle in wawa, skating on frankenfelt from the stairs at the glen in Niagara , and the other time..Not strugglin at all for a half a km walk in september in Southampton.......with one rod! Buddy calls me night before (planning is everything!) to give me the green water light.ITS ON, LIKE DONKEY KONG! The only problem is, in each of the previous situations, a rod was broken. I now take an extra river rod wherever I go. Shimano introduces the Clarus 13 foot FOUR PIECE float rod. IM8 construction, Fuji guides and a suggested retail of under $150 you gotta get one! If your gettin your first long river rod or you need a back-up, guys, this is it! If your significant other/accountant claims you have too many rods already, keep it in the car or sneak it in your hockey bag. If you're goin' on the big hike, pack it in 4 piece, or rig it in 2 piece configuration. There has never been an option like this...factory issue, well done Shimano! Burk out.

How is it like telling a bass guy to fish with a 4pc rod? Never heard of one pc 13 footer?

I used this rod on my first river steelheadin trip John. It was great! Sure didn't feel like a 4-piece rod at all.....SOLID!
