Figuring It Out

Had a tournament on Butterfield Lake which is a real grind type of lake that fishes small. Sometimes you can hit it and the bite will be good which a few big ones coming in but many times it's a grind to get your keepers. Weather was overcast most of the day with the sun coming in and out. Spent most of the day fishing deeper weed edges 10-17 ft but had very little success. Late afternoon I was in trouble with only 2 fish in the livewell and made a switch to hit some shallow cover. Worked some pads and weeds with a plastic craw covered with the new Liquid Mayhem scent Garlic Craw and it was like turning on a light switch. Had my limit in about 15 minutes and culled multiple times, climbing back to a respectable 8th place finish after a horrible first half of the day.
