Moving up

Change is here. As I have been on 4 different lakes within a 200 mile span, I have noticed the same thing with all. Bass are starting to move up from the 20' to 30' range to 2' to 5' of water. When you see 83 to 91 degree water, one would think that they are deep. They should be. But they are being caught deep and a better bite shallow. I am now finding them around grass and pads. I have transitioned with the Bass and brought out the top water, frog, buzzbait, fluke, chatterbait, and squarebill (1.5). Targeting pads is producing better then anything right now. I never thought I would be catching them this shallow in August with temps pushing 100 degrees. I believe (and I could be wrong) that the Bass are moving up because they know the weather is coming and barometric pressure is changing. Some lakes we are seeing 65 degrees in the morning and in others 75. I also believe with all the rain we have had the past few months and lakes being over pool it gives them new water. So next time you go out and you can't get a solid bite, don't forget the bank.
