Kayak Fishing Spring Opener 2017

For many parts of Canada, catching smallmouth bass in April isn't an option. For us, in parts of Nova Scotia, we have just that! Once the ice has receded and temps have risen just enough, targeting bass in April is possible. Along with the bass, chain pickerel are early movers looking for a snack as well, so we're able to catch two species often on the same gear. It was the second week of April 2017 when this footage was shot and with the current weather conditions here, we may get to hit the water even earlier this year... fingers crossed! Cheers!
