Top 50 Pike Opener - Parry Sound

This past weekend dawned the opener for the Top 50 Pike Series 2016 season. The tournament took place on Georgian Bay out of Big Sound Marina hosted by the Great Canadian Female Anglers. 58 teams were signed up to hunt down some Spring Sows. We found a few good fish early using Anglers Choice sniper shads. They are a great bait for some lethargic Spring Pike. Unfortunately we then encountered some boat engines problems that left us stuck at idle. We had to fish within a mile of the measure up station to ensure we were not late. The morning started off beautiful and then turned to rain for the remainder of the tournament. Congrats to Mike Desforges and Clint Hurd for smashing a 46 incher and taking home 1st place. We finished tied for 7th which my brother and I were quite happy with considering the engine issues. Next up is this coming Saturday out of Gloucester Pool. It is not too late to sign up! Please direct message me for details. Saturday May 14 - Port Severn Park 8:00am - 3:30pm. Blast off is sound end of Little Lake. Both Little Lake and Gloucester Pool are open. No travelling through locks though! Thanks for reading everyone! Keeper stiff! Ryan
