Toronto Spring Fishing and Boat Show

This afternoon (Monday, February 18th) I decided to head on down to the Toronto Spring Fishing and Boat Show with some son Keenan. Keenan loves looking at all the boats and fishing gear almost as much as I do but my intent was to pick up some hard to get items I can't find very easily near my hometown of Burlington, Ontario. Since it's Family Day, the show wasn't very busy which was great for us. After grabbing lunch and taking some pics with the "Bass-Cot" (pic above) we wandered around the fishing tackle shops and i quickly found what I came for which included (pics of all the stuff I bought is included above): - Some Anglers Choice plastics (for drop shotting) and some Anglers Choice scented tubes with purple fleck (for Lake Erie) - A pack of Jackall Clone Fry (green shad) and some Jackall Cross Tail Shad (purple winnie) for drop shotting Erie and St. Clair) - Some Fastach clips (i used these a lot last year and loved them) - Some 1/2 oz Tube Heads for rigging my tubes After buying my gear Keenan and I watched a workshop on how to catch more Walleye by the walleye king Ted Takasaki. He shared lots of stories and gave good advice on catching walleye. To summarize an hour, look for depth changes and try several different retrievals using a jig (slow, twitch, letting it sit, erratic jigging, etc) and make sure you let the jig stay on bottom. Nothing too surprising but still excellent advice. All in all Keenan and I had a great time and look forward to next year. And Patrick Zajdel, thanks for the Jackall hat, I'll wear it proudly (not on the water, but around the house and stuff). Ken

It was a great show for sure. I can't believe I didn't see the Fastach's though. They were even on my list that I left at home.

You showed up the one day that I wasn't working down there Ken. Was this by design? LOL!
