Those poor rainbows.....
Lake \ ON
Mar. 7, 2012 11:21pm
Those of you that know me know that I LIVE at the river. I steelhead probably 3 or 4 days a week and dont write a report about it to often. It takes alot to get me Jacked enough to come home and sit down and write about my day but this was different........

Yesterday i had scheduled a half day of work to give me some time to wet a line. I went down to the trib closest to home and found it super clear, low and full of ice again. I figured I only had a couple hours so Id stick it out. I managed to land three fish and felt pretty good about it considering the conditions. My phone rings and work calls so off i go to work. Arive there to find that im needed for a fairly small job so i wrap it up around noon.
That job site I was called to is very close to my favorite trib so off i go.... I arive there and see some cars and some guys. walk down to the river and sneak into the head of a pool that two other guys are fishing the tail of..... first drift 5lbr, 2nd drift 5lbr, 3rd drift 12lbr that takes me for a walk. I release the fish and walk back up to my pool to find the two guys now in the front of the pool. Not nice guys but whatever i technacally left. So I figure i'll make some drifts in the tail out if I get one I'm a hero and these guys will be pissed. So Third drift 3lbr. Maybe ten drifts later 8lbr and again i have to walk down with it. by now these guys are not to happy and i can see them trying to move there leads, change colours, add led and yet they havent got one since i started. I land my fish down stream release her and walk back to my pool to find now one guy in the top and one guy in the bottom....
" by now you guys should know that its not where im standing right?" I ask.
" If you stand in the middle and get one know we are leaving" was the reply. At this point my spirits are riding high so i step in and sure enough......Down she goes AGAIN!!! both of these guys are shaken there heads now and i land the fish around 5lbs. "what in gods name are you using?' he asks. "row" i reply..." Id give you one but you guys are leaving right?" Both guys put there hands out i gave em each a couple bags and theY packed up and left me the hole!! I got a couple more out of it and moved on... I saw the same two guys down stream in the afternoon and they saw me comming. " any luck?" I ask, "Ya 2 thanks for the bags man!", "no problem, can i squeeze in here?" "Sure". Got four more out of that pool!!, unreal!! those guys must think im the fish wisperer!!
All and all a great day I deffenetly landed over 25 rainbows and went back today for another 12. I love steelhead!!

How many days till Bass season!! wish they ate row bags... Id be rich!!
