CFFC Charity Event on Bass Opener
Lake Scugog ON
Jun. 28, 2012 2:08pm

Hey everybody,
Last weekend as you all know was finally bass opener!!
I got the chance to fish the Catch Fish Fight Cancer Charity Event on Lake Scugog for the second year in a row with my close friend and tournament partner and NPS amateur Patrick Good.
The Morning started off a little slow for us as the first few spots we stumbled upon that we have fished in the previous years were surprisingly choked out with weeds. We didn't see or have too much activity in those area's unfortunately. But we stuck it out for a little while and boated 2 keepers before the afternoon. Once we decided to change tactics and areas we began to find some more active fish, we started fishing some pads and dock combinations and had the majority of our sucess and were able to put a decent pattern together within the last hour and a half or so of the event, but unfortunately we had just run out of time to cull one of our last small fish.
We finished the event in 11th place out of 70+ teams with a total weight on 11.96lbs!
All around it was a fun day on the water with a good friend, and we were just happy to both be able to finally start targeting one of our favourite speciecs BASS!!
On our blast back to weigh in unfortunately Pat started to have main motor problems and we had now blown the impellor, luckily that evening Pat had some spare parts and we ripped apart the lower end unit and were able to get it fixed.

It just goes to show you that you never know what could happen throughout the day, and to never give up and to not be affraid to change tactics and presentation enorder to try and fill your limit!!

Tight lines and Good Luck to everyone out there this season!!

Always a well run event and for a great cause! We ended up 5th this
year with just over 13lbs....I think 17 and change won it.
