Wow!! What a day in the cabbage today. A friend and follower of NPS, Rohan came out for a fish this morning. Weather was calling for another day of hard wind changing from the south to north which meant it was gonna be a wet ride to the grounds. It was! But the sun was out when we got there and so were the pike. It took a little while to figure out where they were in the zone we hit but man oh man they were on fire when we hit them up. I switched it up to a larger Flash Torrent Whitefish. Its now retired. It landed close to 50 fish today including 6x40"+ and a fat 44 incher. Too bad I only had one cause poor Rohan had to watch its magic and bait switch to try and match it.

We did go and torment the big girls that use an area I found for digestion. We located them in a shallow area between the eel grass and the shallows. It seems that there are giant fat pigs in there. I will be hitting this spot up each time I'm near cause if they turn on it will mean a fish pushing 50 inches. I saw one today that was easy 48 inches and had 2 casts at her. I had no trolling motor cause I still have no power hookup :( My landlord is away and unplugged me!! Hes gonna get it when he gets back. ha.

Sometimes you will find these digestion areas and when you do they are golden for big pike hunting. Its inevitable that a big one will bite one time or another so you just gotta hit them up with a slow presentation and get a bit of luck. I have been throwing Storm Swim Bait Shads all year and they are big pike killers for this type of presentation. The embedded weight in the belly pops the muck up on the drop and after a couple of pops you swim it away from the fish and it usually slams it on the swim cause it looks like its fleeing. I had great hits so far this year and that is a bait that received lots of teeth. Gonna need to ask santa for some more.

In total we landed 14 over 36 inches, 7 were 40 inch plus with a 44 fat girl that poohed whitefish feces all over my dashboard.
