Last year i had the privilege to finally take a life long friend Johnny Marano out with me to the creeks and watch him land his very first steelhead! it was in the early springtime 2010, the conditions were pretty windy with drizzling rain, and quite cold.It had rained a few days prior which brought the water levels up. We decided to still head on out and giver a shot. Luckily we did cause not only did i get to watch my close friend land his first one ever, but followed it up with 6 more!! between him, my dad, a close family friend and myself we ended up catchin over 30 steelhead. We were using float rods and reels spooled up with 8-10lb mono, with a 4.5- 6.4g floats with small split shots spread out under the float which was attached to a micro swivel. From there to 4-6lb leader of fluorocarbon with anywhere from a size 10-14 hook with a roe bag. I was so thrilled at the end of the day to see the big smile on my buddies face just knowing he had a blast out on the creeks and was gonna want to come back out again!
