Renegade Bass Kicks Off its 20th Season on Lake St. Francis

renegade bass kicks off its 20th season on lake st francis
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

JULY 4, 2015: CORNWALL, ONTARIO

Marina 200 Played host to the first qualifier event for the 2015 Renegade Bass Tournament Series on Lake St. Francis in Cornwall, Ontario. 58 teams took off at 7 am on Saturday July 4th, with high hopes of winning the $5,000 cheque awarded to the team that weighs in the heaviest 5 bass limit of the day.

At 4 o'clock teams began weighing in their day's catch. Many of the teams that crossed the stage shared similar stories to emcee "Big Jim that the fishing was much tougher than it had been in the week leading up to the tournament. With the spawn coming to an end, bright sunny skies and very little windŽ, many teams found themselves scrambling to find new strategies and techniques in order to adapt to the changing conditions.

While some teams were left to scramble to find fish, the team that figured out the Lake St. Francis bass the best "had a plan, stuck to it and it worked out. The team of Kevin Selleck and Travis Raison put together a winning limit of smallmouth bass weighing 21.64 pounds. "We found some good areas with spawning fish in practice. We headed there in our Ranger boat first thing in the morning and within 20 minutes had 2 five-pound bass in the livewell. Those fish helped anchor the team's victory and a hefty pay day. For their efforts, Selleck and Raison took home the $5,000 first place cheque, a $350 cheque for the second largest fish of the day (a 5.40 pound smallmouth caught on a senko), a cheque for $500 from Ranger boats, and $500 from Shimano Platinum Angler program.

Beyond the day's payouts, Selleck and Raison's victory secures the duo a spot in the coveted Renegade Bass Classic, where the winner will walk away with a brand new Ranger and Evinrude package valued at nearly $60,000.

Hookset Marketing has again generously offered it's Bonus Bucks program to maximize payouts for competing teams in Q1. ŽRenegade Bass' next event is on July 18 on Big Rideau Lake.
