A Severe Case of Cabin Fever in Southern Illinois
In less than a month, I will be heading to Star Point Resort on the shores of magnificent Dale Hollow Lake for 2 BFL events and a week of fishing in between. However, with the miserable cold, snowy, icy weather in Southern Illinois it is tough to stay focused. I am very fortunate to live near a very good power plant lake on which I usually fish regularly throughout the winter. I use to fish a winter circuit just about every year, but in recent years my winters have been for fun fishing only. But, it seems that I have done less fishing this winter than in the last few winters for sure. Southern Illinois winters are pretty fishable for the most part, but every handful of years we get a winter that makes water-time tough to come by. The rods are sleeved. The reels are freshly spooled. Tackle has been restocked and organized. I can't wait to hit the water on a very regular basis! Until then, with wintry weather in the forecast for tomorrow, patience must be a virtue.
I wish everyone a great 2018 catching tons of bass, or whatever kinds of fish you enjoy chasing. May God bless you and your family. Until next time, tight lines to all!
