First river coho 2018

http://castingaline.com/ With another week before I start fishing the beaches on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, I went back to the river. After four hours of casting, I finally hooked into a huge coho. Instead of going down the river it took off and went up the river. I tried to follow but decided to let him run with the drag on medium setting. He finally tired and I was able to coax him back down. Unfortunately once I got him to me he had regained some strength then ran down river towing me with him. With the 12-pound leader, I didn’t want to put to much pressure on him. Finally, I was able to catch up to him and bring him to shore. Once I grabbed his tail the hook pop out of his mouth.
