Thinking Out Of The Box

AP Tackleworks casting lures …….I always believed that to be successful in business one must always be thinking out of the box.One of the most successful trolling lures is produced by AP Tackleworks. They are stainless steel making them extremely durable.Today some photo samples of the prototype casting lures that are on there way have been sent to me for this fall season coho fishing off the British Columbia East Coast Vancouver Island. Having used their trolling lures the action they create is alluring to the salmon and they often can’t resist.“The AP Sandlance Spoon has now been fished all throughout the West Coast of North America from Alaska to California and all the way to Russia, New Zealand, Scandinavia and Japan, all with great results. Although the lures were originally designed to target Chinook salmon on the sandy bottoms of the Salish Sea, they have proven effective on Coho salmon, halibut, lingcod, large fresh water trout and many other species. The lures perform great when trolled extremely close to bottom where Pacific Sand Lance are found and are also very effective higher up in the water column. “The prototypes will vary from 14 grams (½ ounce) to 20 grams (¾ ounce). The colours that will be covered will be gold, chartreuse green, florescent red, orange, and silver, black, blue and what ever else Andrew wants to try out..Casting off shore we will be using ultra lite tackle. Our rods are the Amundson Kudos strategy ksp13m-2 line wt 12-20 pounds for weights of ¼ ounce to 1 ounce. The reels are old faithfull Shimano Stradic 2000 weight 9.5 ounces. The main line will be mono 8-pound test Trilene with 4 feet of 12-pound fluorocarbon. The heavier fluorocarbon leader is to handle the coho rolls and teeth.Stay tuned, as this is the year for AP Tackleworks. My tackle bag is getting heavier.
