Canadian Pride in Alberta!!
Hello fellow anglers!
So I woke this morning and called a friend and decided to hit the water due to the great temperature levels allowing us to do so. We arrived on the ice at approximately 8:30 as the sun was coming up. I went and drilled a few holes and the ice was about 16 inches. The water depth was about 17 feet. overall it was a slow start but seemed to pick up throughout the day. As for my set up I was using a St. Croix Premier Ice Combo (medium 32 inch) to jig with and a Fenwick HMG (med-hev 28 inch) with a Rapala R2 with a Williams spoon with a small piece of worm on the end of it.. I was talking to my friend and as I look over my rod started bouncing and I quickly ran over and set the hook and the fight was on. we did not have a scale but figured it was about 13 to 15 LB. On the day I landed exactly ten fish which included 1 walleye and 9 pike and they ranged on 2 to 6 pounds on average.
