Lunkerhunt Micro Swim and the Darter Minnow
Well, it's official. I fished in the worst weather I've ever experinced on the ice. My partner Brad hudson and I went out to the fundraiser for MS "Perchin for MS". What a great event it was, their second annual. Last year they had 78 teams; this year 200 and they had to actually cut it off and turn teams away.
It felt great to be out there doing what I love - "fishing", and knowing that proceeds were going towards helping people devastated by this debilatating disease. With that being said, WOW was it ever windy, which made it extra difficult to fish. Given that the bite wasn't on where we started out, we tried minnows, but the perch just weren't aggresive, we were marking them, and catching the odd dink. So Brad and I switched to the Lunkerhunt baits. I used the Micro Swim and Brad put on the Darter Minnow and man, what a difference. These fish weren't just coming in and looking at the bait, they were now coming at us aggresively. There were still a lot of small ones but we could now go through many fish and keep our ten biggest ones. We must have moved 5 to 6 times on this blustery morning until we finally decided to do this. It paid off, as it put us on the board, with not exactly the result we wanted, but at least we made to the scales!
All in all, it was a great day and we'll be there next year without a doubt!
Cheers
Nuno

Well said Nuno! Like I mentioned to you when I saw you at the tournament yesterday, we couldn't buy a bite with the minnows. As soon as we switched to the Lunkerhunt Darter Minnows, it started a frenzy & it was non-stop action. We brought over 90 perch through the ice before noon!

Thanks guys
