Hello everyone, I wanted to share a good short read by David Hunter Jones on the new G. Loomis "GL2" rods. I personally have tried these rods and let me tell you for the price, these G. Loomis rods are a sure bet! What is it? G.Loomis's award winning GL2 rod lineup (they won the Best Freshwater Rod category at ICAST 2011). What does it do? These rods offer anglers a chance to experience G.Loomis rods at an entry-level price. Why do I need it? If you've ever been curious as to why many anglers shell out a few extra bucks to buy Loomis products, now is your chance to do so at a reduced price without a reduction in quality or workmanship. How do I use it? Pick a rod designed to perform best with your favorite technique and give it it a whirl! Both spinning and casting models are available. What sets it apart? These rods are unmistakably Loomis. They're built with lightness, sensitivity and durability in mind, with the added draw of affordability. Like all Loomis products, the GL2 line is backed by Loomis's lifetime defect warranty. How much? Loomis lists the range of the GL2 series as $185.00 - $245.00. Give them a try and let me know? I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised and how you will always want to fish with a G. Loomis rod. Set the hook! Jacques

Well said Jacques. G Loomis did a VERY good job redesigning the GL2 line up. Really like the new split grip handles and so many models to choose from. My personal favorite model(s) are the GL2 893C JWR and the GL2 894C JWR. Both rods are 7'5", but one is a power 3 and the other a little stiffer action at a power 4. You can fish many different techniques with these two rods.

Been eyeing those as I want to get a really good crankbait rod. Ones that I have tried recommended by friends just haven't been the one. I am debating though between GL2, Crankbait series, or GLX. The thing with the GL2 I like is the wildcard!
