Sturgeon tracking

In my last year of High School, I decided I wanted to do a co-op but had no idea what I wanted to do. All I knew is that, 1) I didn't want to be inside and 2) I wanted something different, that no one else had done before. Well, having the awesome co-op teacher I did, she knew I loved fishing and did some research and she was able to get me a co-op where I'd be working alongside two biologists. It was awesome, I loved it. I knew then and there, that's what I wanted to do. The first day there, they showed me around and introduced me to who I would be working with and what not. At the time, they were working on a project where they were tracking Sturgeon in lake Nipissing. On lake Nipissing, there are commercial fishermen, and on that first day, the one guy, caught 2 Sturgeon in his net, therefore they had to call Nikki, one of the biologists who had to go check it out and see if they were tagged and what not, she asked me if I wanted to go, I was thrilled! I had never done anything like that before, or even seen a Sturgeon. Nikki was awesome and let me do most of the work myself with a lot of her help! I've never seen such an incredible fish!

Thats awesome...I haven't fished for or seen a sturgeon yet. I think I hooked one once on the niagara river, but lost it.
