Waypoint Management

Just wanted to pass along some information on a very cool upgrade that will help you manage your waypoints, trails, etc on your humminbird graph. New for this year is a feature called "waypoint management". I believe it is a free software upgrade from the humminbird website for a number of the older units and comes standard on the new Sonar/GPS units. If you have not had the chance to try it out, you should. For starters, when you scan through your waypoints on your graph, there is now a picture box in the top right hand corner that shows you where your waypoint is located on the mapping screen. This is a huge time saver when trying to locate a co-ordinate on your graph by # or name, or when trying to delete waypoints on your unit. Furthermore, you also have the ability to delete multiple selected waypoints in one sitting, instead of one at a time, or all at once. I easily deleted 400 individual waypoints out of 1000 the other night in a matter of minutes. The other really cool feature is called "groups" which allows you to organize your waypoints, routes and tracks in one set. Some anglers prefer to group their navigation by body of water, time of day, etc. You now have the ability to do this on your unit and copy or move waypoints from different groups. Some other useful features are: 1) setting a default waypoint icon, 2) changing an icon for multiple selected waypoints at once, 3) abitlity to customize a waypoint, route, group or track on your unit in a matter of seconds. My quick recap of this feature is barely enough to give it justice, trust me. The countless options you now have to manage your waypoints and the amount of time this feature will save you is unmatched. After using it for this past week, I can't imagine not having it now.
