Fiberglassing the Bottom
The inside bottom of the boat was fiberglassed today. The standard fiberglassing procedure was used to make sure a strong bond between wood and glass was created. To do this I first used a DA sander to open the pores of the plywood so that when I primed my wood the meat epoxy would absorb into the pores. Next I payed my biaxial fiberglass over the primed area and made sure to flatten it all out so there were so creases in the glass. I then wetted out the fiberglass by rolling on more neat epoxy on top of the fiberglass. The fiberglass then turned translucent so I knew it fully absorbed into the epoxy and the day was complete!
