Proper Boat Care

Proper boat care is just as important as any other care with our fishing gear. We all spend a lot of money on our equipment, so let try to take care of it. Every event, the night before, you check everything. Your line, rods reel ect. You fish hard all day and the WET boat goes on the trailer and you go home. That pretty much sums it up for most guys. As the boat goes down the hwy, dirt and dust stick the fiberglass of the boat and believe it or not scratches the boat. As a previous owner of a detailing company, I did hundreds of boat, and the biggest issue I heard about was "How come my boat has all these little scratches in it? Here are a few tips in keeping your rig clean and scratch free. - ALWAYS wipe your boat down after you pill it out of the water, with a soft cloth. I use a quick detailing spray as well. It takes 5 min, and well worth the time. -When waxing your boat, use a carnauba wax. This wax has UV protestants in it to help the look and finish of your boat last. -Black is the hardest colour to keep clean. Black boats often fade faster, than say a white boat, because of the sun. It's attracted to dark colours, so waxing will be more frequent. The more wax you build up on your boat, the better the colours will stand out and less chance of oxidation (white fading haze look). Give it a try, keep that rig looking good!!! Brendan
