Best Australia Day ever!

With a great weather window on Australia Day we headed to Strahan on the wild west coast of Tasmania for some deep water bottom fishing action. The bite was slow at first but as the tide turned things started to fire up with multiple hookups on Striped Trumpeter to 10kg and a couple of great School Shark around 30kg. Then as we were moving to try a new drift we came across a massive school of Southern Bluefin Tuna busting up! Within about a minute we had 3 lures on and all 3 got smashed as we trolled through. We dropped one, I landed mine at around 25kg and my good mate Dean was stoked to land his first ever Tuna which at around 40kg was a better than average fish and made him hurt for a while :) I love it when a plan comes together ;)
