Collecting the win!

Straitline Anglers held there annual Upper Niagara Mixed-bag bass tournament today, which consisted of a 4 largemouth and 2 smallmouth limit. The Day started out great for Keith Langley and I as we had our 2 smallmouth in the first 15 minutes then culled those out 8 times over by 9am. We decided it was time to go find the largemouth in the Niagara River. Keith and myself had a plan of where we were going to fish and as you know during tournaments that never pans out. We pull up to this channel and after 2 hours of nothing and only seeing 2 largemouth maybe 8" long it was time to call it and make a run. We ran to a spot we have never fished for largemouth but on paper looked good so we tried our luck. Within the first 20 minutes I make a flip into a lay-down and BAM fish on! At first I thought it was a smallmouth(very common in the river) as it was fighting like one until I saw it. Up comes this 4.3lb swamp-donkey! Right after Keith chucks a crank along a weed line and BAM there is another one at 3lbs! Our excitement grew as we finally found some largemouth! Well we celebrated too soon. As the bite died and Keith ended up catching a muskie on a spinner bait. So after 2 hours of no bites we figured we would try and cull one of our smallmouth again before we go to weigh-in.I figured it would be somewhat difficult to cull our fish as we already had two 4+lb fish in the live well. Well almost right away a fish hammers my X Zone Slammer and completely dwarfed one of our fish and there was the cull we needed! Time for weigh-in! We get back to weigh-in and everyone has a limit but us. At this point we figured we at least had big fish, well too our surprise we had the two biggest largemouth of the day! Everyone had small largemouth and were hoping for weight in smallmouth. Luckily for our four fish we had 14.91lbs and the next weight was just over 11lbs! We secured the win today and were extremely happy with how we fished today and wouldn't change anything about it!
