Beach Journal November 1, 2017

We were all excited to get back to yesterday location to continue our success catching Coho. That dind't happen as the salmon decided to move and spread out. We did find them but had to keep moving as they would not hold for long. For 4 hours we waded over our crotch and often were over 500 -700 feet from shore. Good thing we had insulating layers on to keep the cold out as BC water at this time is very cold. The salmon were also hitting the lures short. I think they were slapping them or last minute changing their mind to bite the lure. With a trailer hook on the lure that usually compensate for short strikes . We were not catching a solid hook set . We had numerous salmon on and then loose them . Of the salmon that hit our lure we were only able to land 2 one coho and one chum. Still lots of fun but that chum was sure ugly.
