Paddling for Bones

The weather forecast was for Santa Ana like conditions and there have been midweek reports of nicer grade Bonita. We too trolled up one bone before sunrise and another after the sun was overhead. This was punctuated with a meals worth of various rockfish. My plan for fishing Bonita today was to troll shallow diving stick baits. There was a fast downhill current so I appreciated the low drag I get from the shallow divers when covering a lot of water. If they are not taking them and as the day gets brighter I will switch to a deep diver. When they have a school of bait up on the surface I will cast to them.
