CSFL Classic - Rice Lake Live Angler Feed - Day 3


Text message updates are coming in all day from some anglers fishing the CSFL classic. Stay tuned as we continue to update this thread and keep you up-to-date with what's going on, on the water; Day 3 “ September 9th 6:00 - Weigh in is complete 2:23 pm - On our way to the stage. We have around 17lbs. Hopefully hold top 3. - Blake Rankie 12:38 - Last spot to go we need a big one in the last 20 min - Blake Rankie 11:32 am - We have 5 in the well with one really good one - Blake Rankie 7:00 am “ The top 20 teams are off. Stay tuned for updates as Blake's final day unfolds as he currently sits in second“ Team NPS 5:49 am “ Well up at 4:30. Just getting coffees and breakfast at timmies. 2 rods left to tie. - Blake Rankie ______________________ Day 2 “ September 8th 5:18 am “ Back up. Time to hook the boat up and get ready to go fish day 2. Time for coffee “ Blake Rankie 6:09 am - Well on way to the boat launch. It's pouring rain with lighting. There was a storm all last night with the same type of weather. I expect the fishing to be tough out on the lake with this type of weather since midnight. Good thing we have good rain gear. Keep u posted on what is going on but its raining buckets now while we're travelling. “ Blake Rankie 6:36 am “ Tourney delayed 1 hour due to bad weather.We launch at 8am now. “ Blake Rankie 2:15 pm - Tough day rain and wind. We have 5 fish but only one good one. 2 hours to go. - Blake Rankie 3:30 pm - Double header. Just culled two fish! Increased our weight by 2 lbs at least! It ain't over yet. - Blake Rankie 4:48 pm - Well at weigh in tough weather day for us. We have 5 fish time to weigh in. Lost 2 good fish which would have helped but fished hard in small craft warnings, wind, and rain. A wild day out on the lake. - Blake Rankie 5:52 pm - Weigh in still going on - Here are you top 5 as it stands now 1. Rob Lafleur and Pete Garnier 38.20 lbs 2. Blake Rankie and Sean McLaughin 34.55 lbs 3. Barry Graves and Jason Gough 34.30 lbs 4. Wayne Misslebrook and Dave Kennedy 33.50 lbs 5. Steve Stinson and Greg Siblock 32.80 lbs - Team NPS 9:42 pm “ Well weighed in 16.6 and we are 2nd overall. Approx 3.5lbs out of first. Last day is Sunday of this 3 day major event. Stay tuned for more reports and a weekly review. Thanks again for all NPS support and my followers. Well off to bed as we have to be up at 4:30 am “ Blake Rankie _______________ Day 1 - September 7th 5:15 am - well it's 5:15 AM Time to get up and out to the classic - Blake Rankie 10:15 am- Slow morning but we have our five. Not too big but we have a start anyways. Off to the next spot looking for bigger size fish - Blake Rankie 11:14 am - Culling now. Got 1 4lbr right now - Blake Rankie 12:43 pm - Culling a mixed bag - David MacDonald 1:19 pm - Bite is very slow for us. Just caught another cull fish. We need a big one to help out bag for weigh in. Trying another spot and hoping for a tank. - Blake Rankie 2:40 pm - Ryan Crowley is experiencing livewell pump issues. He came in early to weigh his 3 best fish for 13.15lbs so far. Also weighed in a 5.60lb Smallmouth for big fish so far. He's now back out looking for 2 more to bring back to the scales at 4pm. - Team NPS 3:23 pm - One more good smallie from the river. We need a kicker for a good bag. - Blake Rankie 3:48 pm - One more in the river. Off to weigh in with minutes to go. - Blake Rankie 4:05 pm - checked in and off to weigh in fish. What a weird day. Had to run and gun, one fish here and one fish there but our run and gun strategy did pay off. Well time to see how they weigh and thank goodness for the last minute spots on the way back in the river - Blake Rankie 4:02 pm - weigh in has started and 20lbs is in the lead, and a 5.85 lb largie is big fish - Team NPS 4:28 pm - in line waiting to weigh in. We have 4 decent fish and one small 1.7lb fish we could not cull. - David Macdonald 4:44 pm - Weighed in 17.95lbs. We're in the hunt for sure - Blake Rankie 5:30 pm - Day 1 weigh in is complete. 1. 20lbs still leads from Phil Curtis. 2. 18.45lbs from Frank Adamo and John Delicata. 3. 18.05lbs Wayne Misslebrook and Dave Kennedy 4. 17.95lbs Blake Rankie and Sean McLaughin 5. 17.65lbs Rob Lafleur, Pete Garnier Stay tuned for results to be posted shortly and pictures to follow later tonight - Team NPS 5:59 pm - Day 1 Results have been posted to NPS by the CSFL. See the Teams news section on the NPS home page to see the full results listing. 7:21 pm - Well re-tying the jerkbait and flipping rods getting ready for tomorrow. New line on some reels and all new baits. Livewells are cleaned and batteries are charging. Time to eat and early to bed.
