FLW on the Potomac

Well just back from the FLW Everstart on the Potomac River, and first off Congratulations to Shimano teammate Cory Johnston on another great showing , placing 2nd on what was a very challenging tournament. I just didn't get the bites this weekend, day one had a number of good strikes on a frog bite but just couldn't get them to stay hooked up. Day two was more of the same , with onlly three bites which resulted in three small fish. No excuses just wasn't on quality fish this weekend. Interesting change in the water on the Potomac River , with the lack of rain the salt water is now pushing up the river. As a result the weed has changed, and the crabs even though they are saltwater crabs have moved up the river .There are hundreds of crab traps all the way into Washington DC , the bass are very thin , almost look like they are spawned out , so i don't know if this is a result of the changing water conditions . Well, that is it for the Northern Everstarts this season, they have announced the 2013 Northern Schedule with the following location, Smith Mountain, Potomac River , Lake Champlain and Chesapeake River , no 1000 islands next year. Ron Lappin the tournament director told me they will be back in 2014. Next up is the B-1 out of Quebec so let's hope for more fish and better results
