I went out today for a short club tournament and while out there I had heard about another club member yesterday having a bearing go on him while trailering his way home from another club tournament. He carries spares and I started to wonder being a boater for only the past 3 years what stuff should I be carrying for that just in case moment. Thats where I would like input from anyone who has had or heard of a situation that maybe myself or others might not have thought about. Sometimes we might never need some stuff but then there could be a day where you say shoot I wish I had that so we could keep going. As I type this I just thought I have never put spare spark plugs in my tool box for the just in case moment but I do carry lots of fuses for me and if a fellow angler needs one then here you go. This might help others tell stories of past experiences but I want to learn from others so maybe I can avoid being stranded (I hope that never does but...)

I always carry a spare set of inner and outter wheel bearings, grease, seals and all the tools needed to change a bad bearing. And yes it all has come in handy in the past. I always remove and repack all my bearings each spring with freash grease and replace any that shows signs of wear. A complete hub assy is also a great thing to have with you just in case. Also as already mentioned by Steve, good to have a jack for your trailer. Most times the jack provided for your truck will be too big/tall to fit under your trailer.

Hi Scott I always carry a spare hub that fits my trailer there fairly reasonable and they come with bearings already asembled.Booster cables in the boat are a must in your boat if you have a dead battery and need to jump to keep your livewells running or a boost to start your boat.Spare jug of oil, spare portable livewell pump with wires and fuse to reach battery incase your livewell pumps **** out.Purchase a good jack to lift your boat and trailer to change tire and or bearings.Small portable compressor works well in a pinch for air. I blew a tire because a wheel bearing went on me and i had no new hub ,I do now. best of luck and be prepared....
