Mackerel fishing with sabaki rig

I was invited by a lobster fisherman friend of mine to go mackerel jigging for bait for his traps. I thought I’d make it more fun than a handline and brought my Streamside Predator rod and Falcon reel combo, with a sabaki rig with a CG Emery mackerel jig as a dropper. Talk about fun! We were reeling them in up to 4 at a time! It was hard keeping the ganets off the line as they were diving for the rig thinking it was bait fish. Altogether we filled three crates. Gave a couple douzen to the local seniors home and salted the rest for lobster bait. What an awesome evening!
