ICAST Cup

Fished the ICAST Cup today with the folks from CAST for Kids and Hooked University. Had a tough bite, but was able to pull off 9.9 pounds with only three fish. For a four hour tournament in the dog days of summer in Florida, that's not bad. We were on good quality fish, but needed to be able to pick them apart. Unfortunately we were out of time just as we were getting going. Our good fish came from about 8 ft of water with a Kustom Kicker Jigs Dock Monkey. I would make a good long cast in an area where fish were feeding, then stroke the jig up off the bottom. It was getting bit on he fall. Our big fish went just shy of 5 1/2 pounds. Our other fish came from a zoom Magnum speed worm using a 1/8 oz weight. Over all we were pretty happy with our short tournament. It's always a good day when your three fish beats limits from both Ish Monroe and Aaron Martins!
