Hangbelly Lures are here to stay

For those of you who have not heard of the Hangbelly Lure. Check out their web page. It lists all the different colours available and a plethora of photos. These little crankbaits were introduced to the retail market in 2012. I was fortunate...e to meet Doug Hiltz CEO at the Spring Fishing and Boat show in Toronto last February. He soon made a pro-staff for Hangbelly and let me loose on the water with a smattering of different colours to try out. First trip was in April Easter weekend. After hours of trolling several different cranks for Rainbows I finally put on a Hangbelly. Within five minutes we landed one and lost one on the planner boards I was running. Since then I have used them in Lake Superior, Kapuskasing River, Lake Huron, Mattagami Lake, and several more locations. I can guarantee these little beauties will catch you fish. I have caught several northern and lots of walleye on these. They run fairly shallow and also there are suspending models. There is a piston rattle in them for noise and an action like never seen before. Doug told me last week that he is struggling to keep up with orders for the Bass guys in the USA who are ordering them buy the handful out of Cabela's Canada.. He also informed me of some new colours coming out this year, so get ready for the launch. Long story short, if you fish for any fresh water species give these a try, I am sure you will get hooked on Hangbelly..
