FPT Last Tournament Stop

Classic dreams dominate thoughts in season finale Postby FPT » Tue Jun 04, 2013 12:08 pm Image Robert Riley and Mike Barnard look to win AOY and Navionics Cup titles - again Central Valley anglers look for opportunity to be one of only 75 teams that will qualify for 2013 FPT Classic championship Classic dreams will definitely occupy the minds of many anglers participating in this Saturday's FPT event on New Melones lake, as this final event of the 2013 season represents the last opportunity for those anglers sitting on or outside of the "qualifying bubble, to earn a berth into the prestigious 2013 Future Pro Tour Classic Championship, and compete against only 75 other teams (both regions combined) for the keys to a new Ranger Z118/Evinude package. The event is sure to be a challenging one in that this weekend's temperatures call for it to be in the high 90's AND this will be a two-day event running both Saturday and Sunday, minimizing the "luck factor, and requiring anglers to put much more thought into the patterns they select. The race for the inaugural Coors Light Angler of the Year title will be exciting as last year's Angler's of the Year, and Navionics Cup Champions Mike Barnard and Robert Riley lead the pack and are poised to be only the second team in FPT history to pull off back-to-back AOY titles, sending a distinct message to any "haters that winning these prestigious titles last year was no fluke. Late signups for this event will be held at Glory Hole Sporting Goods, in Angels Camp, beginning at 4am, with limited memberships of just $5 per angler available for those that can only fish this event. The final weigh-in and awards will be held at Glory Hole Marina on Sunday, beginning at 12 noon, so come on out a see all the action as we close out a very exciting season.
