NUTRITION

most of us are guilty of this . i know i am by a longshot. i dont even wanna stop to go the bathroom cause that will be one cast less i get in. i super bad when in touraments. eating and drinking. this is a small but very important factor many of us overlook. by far i am no doctor but bein a former powerlifter i understand the need for nutrition. not sayin ya gotta start eatin 8meals a day like i used too lol but i am so guilty of it when fishin. if you deprive your body of proper energy small things can happen which can cost u that one fish. lack of proper food and water will dehydrate you. your reaction time can slow down. your vision can blurr at times. i remember once i was so tired i dozed and nearly fell off the boat. i know its hard to put that rod down for a min but for health and safety reasons you should. pop and choc bars are not good choices. thats just a sugar rush and you'll burn it fast and crash. a health sandwich or muffins and fruit are good and easy choices. so just a reminder come the season to pack a decent snack when headin out. ya wouldnt wanna miss that potential trophy cause ya were slow and tired. (and no pizza pizza dont deliver on the lake yet. though i should consider makin a floating tims lol)

Scott, you are bang on with the importance of proper nutrition and hydration. You can't perform at the highest level unless you take care of yourself. Further to your report, the Physical and Health Education teacher in me would like to add the importance of staying in shape with some type of exercise program. A healthy body will deliver oxygen and food to the working muscles/brain more efficiently and your touch and feel will be better resulting in more success on the water!
