Things To Watch Over The Winter Months

There are the few guys that still haven't put their boats to bed for the winter and insist on wrestling them off the frozen trailer. Those guys often will have the lake all to themselves and sometimes find themselves on wolf packs of big fish. Soon though, the lakes will freeze over, we will be shovelling the driveway and drilling holes to get at a few fish. If you are like me, you will be looking out the window counting down to that start of the warm water season of 2014. With that in mind there are a few things that you can keep your eye out for over the winter to help you get ready for the spring season. The off season is when a lot of companies will reveal their latest and greatest for when you hit the water next. One of those things that I will definitely be looking out for is a new line of rods from Abu Garcia designed by Mike Iaconelli. Another line that seems to always add great new shapes is the Berkley Havoc Line. I think these are incredible shapes with great action and are on the low end of the price scale. I highly recommend at these shows to not just cruise through the dealers and purchase what you use every time you hit the water but to also visit the manufacture booths and see what they have in their bag of tricks and then go to the dealers to find something new for 2014.
