A Very Crappie Day On The Ice!
Got out on the ice this morning for a quick crappie fish and boy, what a day! Had a blast smashing crappie pretty much all day long. And, I learnt something very valuable. I know its the wrong thing to do, but I have to admit. I have always been the kind of ice fisherman that hunkers down on a spot, sets the hut up, and catches what comes around. Its not always the most effective technique, but it is the warmest and most of the time that beats out catching fish. But, today I decided to suck it up, and I punched as many holes as possible and hole hopped all day long. I found that I caught way more fish, and with my fishbum clothing, I was dry, and warm all day long. If you are the type of fisherman that sets up on a spot and moves rarely, I strongly suggest that you pick up a fishbum soft shell, and get out there and catch some fish! Hope everyone is having a great holiday season, and is catching lots of fish! Tight lines, and Merry Christmas!

Run and gun isn't just for bass fishing! Congrats on the craps!

Nice fish Cole - mobility can definitely be the key on the ice. Try to think about it similarly to open water fishing; how many casts would you make to the same target before drifting or moving along with your trolling motor?
