Hard fishing ahead

Recently in the news hundreds of fish have been surfacing at Puslinch Lake in Cambridge, Ontario. Some locals, and even as far as the GTA have concluded that it will be different kind of season due to the harsh winter we've endured. Here's a link to the local news report on the situation http://kitchener.ctvnews.ca/dead-fish-found-floating-in-puslinch-lake-1.1755686 In other areas of Ontario rivers like Beaver near the dam are congested with ice flow and ladders are still up. High water levels are definitely going to play a roll this year as we set our sights on Trout opener.

This happens naturally, and I agree with your comment Jason, trying to turn it into something it isn't. There will still be plenty of fins to catch!

I would not read into the media too much. They love to sell papers with negative news. Our fish are built in Canada to withstand OR bounce back from hard winters. Some smaller water bodies will take more time to rebound. Larger lakes should fair fine. All will be fine. We have THE best fishing anywhere right here in Ontario. Enjoy the open water! It has been a long winter.

Too bad to see such a die off, should be interesting for those of you fishing around these areas this season.
