Lew's Laser MG Speed Spool Series Casting Reel
Not every angler wants to invest in a top-of-the- line model right at the start, so Lew's offers the Laser MG Speed Spool Castinger as a workhorse option for any budget. It's important to know that the Laser MG is manufactured in the same factory as all Lew's reels and incorporates the same features - quality and engineering that are built into all Speed Spool models. The Lew's Laser MG is proof that “affordable” doesn't have to come with a compromise in quality.

REVIEWS FOR THIS PRODUCT

First Lews, great buy!
I bought this a few months ago, needed another baitcast but wasn't wanting to spend a ton....this reel exceeded my expectations, its smooth, light, easy to set and overall very nice. Easily compares to my Shimano Cita's I think I need to own a few more.

Quality
Bought this reel sometime ago and it’s still holding up strong, from fresh to salt this reel has never failed me.. and for the price it’s unbelievable once you get it tuned in right it’s a dream to cast. I barely get any backlashes with it nowadays.... GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!

Best reel you can buy for the money

I just got my LSG1SH Laser MG speed spool 3 weeks ago, been our fishing about 15 times since then and this reel on my Diawa pole has been the what ive used every time, i also bought a tournament laser (my switch to Lews, now im hooked) about 2 months ago, and personally i like the laser MG better than the tourney laser. It feels more solid, and the lock for the side plate is aluminum on the MG, on the tournament laser its plastic. But all in all they are both great reels, love them both and i will never use any reel but a lews again if your thinking about getting this Laser MG speed spool, do it you wont regret it

Good reel

This reel is very light and great pond and lake fishing that has a good smooth retrieve and can hold a lot of line. I use 17 lb mono on it and it is really good with the reel.

best reel for under $100
This real has 8 ball bearings and can come in a 7:1:1 gear ratio or 6:4:1. I just bought one of these a couple months ago and I love it. I have put mutiple line types on it. Braid, Monofilament, and Flourocarbon all go nicely on the spool. It does have MCS (Magnetic Cast Control) and it sometimes can come in handy. If you are on a budget like myself. This reel is the way to go because you can use it for multiple techniques if you get the reel in the 7:1:1 gear ratio. Its a great buy and If I were you I would consider this reel!!

bang for your buck
This is an outstanding reel. I own two of them and have never had an issue. For the price you pay you really are getting a steal. If you don't have one I'd get one and give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed.

My go to reel

A coworker suggested Lews reels to me a little over a year ago. I made the switch and I have been very pleased ever since. This particular model is my go to reel. When I paddle out in my kayak and get ready to make my first cast this reel is whats in my hand. Its a dream to cast and even better on winching in those bucket mouths.

I'm using one of the carbon plated low profile one but I love it! Has excellent drag aND cast control with the magnetic braking system! I'm sold on lews!

Top of the line with budget in mind.
These reels will outperform other reels of this price range hands down. I used to use a different companies reels but after 1 time with Lews I will never own another brand.
