Crisp and Lite!

Call me a Lewser, but this reel is fantastic! Smooth, crisp and light. Been using the Pro G 7.5:1 for a few months now and as we get deeper into buzzbait season, I am very happy with this choice. Very light for making multiple, frequent casts with the buzzbait. High speed is excellent for keeping the buzzbait on top and reducing fatigue and smooth functional components for dialing in the cast with a not so aerodynamic bait. The price point is great for the quality and standard components like a carbon fiber crank handle. Home Run!

I have used a lot of reels over my time of fishing and Lew's has been the top choice of them all. Affordable prices and the quality is great. Warranty department is quick and easy and I would highly recommend these reals and rods to anyone looking to narrow their rods down to a certain brand

My favorite reel hands down

When I decided start learning to use a casting reel I felt a good one to learn with would be best with less frustrations. Wasn't going to pick up a cheap real and learn with that. I did a lot of research online and had my mind set on the Tournament Pro by Lew's. My father wanted me to try his old Abu Garcia Ambassador reels before pulling the trigger and making a purchase. Well little did he know I had already made the order for the Lew's. After 2 years now I've tried a few Shimano casting reels and a couple Abu Garcia as well. When in comes to adjusting, maintenance, and how smooth the reel is this is the ticket right here. I quickly became a Lew's fan. Actually just ordered another one today.

Currently My Favorite Reel of My Career!

Out of the 32 rod/reel setups I own, 12 of them have the Lew's Tournament Pro G screwed on. I was a big fan of the original Tournament Pro a few years ago, and seeing how this is an upgrade with the new SpeedKeeper to keep hooks at bay and the SpeedDial to keep you in tune with what kind of line and diameter you have on. These new innovative features are pending patents and easily trump any of the new features you will find on other brands of fishing reels currently on the market. These reals are made for the intermediate to expert fisherman in mind. The loose spool helps excel lure propulsion so you can bomb that lipless until your spool almost goes empty. They offer the Tournament Pro G in a extra fast 8.3:1 for your swim baits, heavy flipping and umbrella rigs. Easily the best reel in the last decade. Go out and buy a dozen and feel pure happiness.

I bought this reel because of the great reviews I've been reading. Its my go to reel when I'm tournament fishing. I will be buying more Lews reels in the next few weeks.

Unreal how small it is

I am a small guy at 5'4" 150lbs, so most reals feel "OK" or too big in my hand. I have recently purchased this new Lews Tournament Pro G version reel and wow is it small. When I pulled it from the box it looked different from the original Tournament Pro reels. Once I put it on the rod I was able to cover most of the reel with my hand, I was able to palm it really well and get more control of the rod. To me this will help with hand fatigue after a long hard day on the water. Unfortunately I have not put the reel to the test yet out on the water, thanks to the ice, but if its anything like its predecessor the Tournament Pro original I will be quite pleased with it. The original had plenty of drag adjustment and casts a mile. I personally have to try to get a backlash with the original reel, and no I am not a pro or anywhere near it, its just that the reel is that good once adjusted to the weight of the bait. Outstanding performance in my opinion. Looking forward to testing the Pro G reel out this summer(2016). I didn't even mention the foldaway hook keeper and line size indicator on the tension knob(awesome). The only complaint I have is that I fish left handed and this reel only comes in a left hand 6.8:1 gear ratio. This will get the job done but I will be looking forward to a 7.5:1 gear ratio. Other than this little adjustment I am in love with this reel and will buy more in the future.
