Platypus Lo-Stretch is a monofilament line that has the low stretch of a braid! The advantage of braid is the incredible sensitivity you get from near zero stretch. Platypus Lo-Stretch has the lowest stretch possible from a monofilament. By capitalizing on new raw material blends and our state of the art manufacturing processes, we are able to bring you this unique and exceptional line. Much has been written about the advantages of braid, but monofilament has its place in fishing as well. Some stretch in your fishing line can be good. Braid has almost no stretch, which makes the line incredibly sensitive, but can sometimes result in pulled hooks and lost fish. Platypus Lo-Stretch gives you the best of both worlds - enough stretch to provide a slight shock absorbing quality, with minimum stretch for maximum sensitivity! All braided lines have weaker knot strength than monofilament, and knots for braids typically require more turns and wraps than regular knots. Good knots tied with Platypus Lo-Stretch give 100% knot strength, whereas excellent knots tied in braid give 85% knot strength. Platypus Lo-Stretch, at roughly one third the price of braid, is also more cost effective. Advantages of Platypus Lo-Stretch Lo-Stretch is thinner than most monofilaments Constructed using an exclusive three-layer co-polymer nylon monofilament process IGFA class line Low stretch for added sensitivity and improved bait action Unique ultraviolet inhibitors and heat stabilizers added

Lo-stretch for long line trolling
5
- I have used lo- stretch for long line trolling and jig fishing for several years. Although modern braids are much less abrasive ... when they first came out the would tear up guides and fingers. I switched to lo-stretch and got rid of those issues. Platypus has always had a thin diameter to pound test when compared to other lines thus allowing more on the spool which is especially important when using smaller reels. The lower stretch allows for better feel when using longer lines trolling bucktails or deep line jigging where a some give is desired. The line is very consitent spool to spool, haven't been disappointed yet.
