I was born into a military family in Ottawa and developped a passion for fishing at an early age. My parents were both from a small town near Cornwall Ont which gave me an opportunity to spend a lot of tim
e on Lake St Francis, but back in those days we were Perch fanatics. At 18 1/2 I too joined the military where during my 22 years of service I managed to venture to places that allowed me to spend some time fishing places like the Ottawa river in the Ottawa Valley, Lake Simcoe, the basin of the James Bay at Moosenee, the St Johns and Miramichi Rivers and Cold Lake in Alberta. I have also had the opportunity to fish some great Northern Ontario Lakes such as Horwood and Elk for Walleye and Pike and Lady Evelyn for Lakers but nothing brings me home like the waters of the good old Bay of Quinte. In my early twenties, my Uncle Stan, who was the most influential person in my life when it came to intoducing me to the outdoors, retired from Canada Post in a beautiful house on the shores of the Long Reach portion of the Bay of Quinte. He played host to hundreds of weekends of pulling huge Walleye from the depth, which quickly became our new passion over the Lancaster Perch. In the latter part of my military career, I was graced with a posting to Trenton, which I considered to be my dream posting, so I could spend my weekends on the greatest body of water I had ever fished. It was only in the past 10 years that I really found my passion in Bass fishing and it has led me to be the angler I am today. Having been an angler for most of my life, I thought "how hard can it be to catch a Bass?", and entered into a number of local high end Open Tournaments. I quickly learned there was more to catching Bass than met the eye. It was at that time I realized I needed to join a club where there were a bunch of great guys just dying to fill my head with Bass fishing knowledge, and over the last 8 years I have met some of the greatest anglers in the industry. It has been through these relationships that I owe everything I know today to these great friends. I have fished in the Bassmasters, CBAF, Bassmania, Quinte Fishing Series, CFSL Special events like the Kingston Canadian Open and the Berkley B1, and every one of these series' events have made me a better angler and sportsman. I look forward to many more in the years to come. I hope to see you on the water!!!!
